Three more photos into my collection!

Went down to the AKB48 Cafe just now to meet up with the person whom I bought 2 Akicha Visual Book BLT photos from in eBay. (collectable photos of the AKB48 members that can be obtained from photo sets or as bonus item, like from books and singles/albums) Happen to bump into a friend who is helping me hold on to a Akicha photo which came from the AKB48 Singapore May photos set.

The three photos I got today. The one at the most left is from the May set.

so... 1 more to go to complete the May set! Anyone have the one that I don't have?? >_<

mmm... still need Red: 1st, and White: 1st & 2nd...

SDN48 3rd Single - Min.Min.Min

Announced a few days ago, SDN48's 3rd single would be released on the 17th of August, titled 'Min.Min.Min'. There wound be three versions, Type A, B and Theater version.

You might ask what 'Min.Min.Min' means. It actually doesn't really have a meaning and is just that it's used in the CM for the Min Min Daha anti-sleep energy drink.

There is quite a lot of changes to the Senbatsu members and it was speculated that maybe the management wanted to rotate the members to like balance out the opportunity to all the members.

Have been following SDN48 since their debut single, 'GAGAGA' and am totally in love with their songs. The style of their songs are different from that of AKB48 or SKE48, and is more adult-themed. Really seductive! (Went to their 1st stage performance in Singapore and would totally not forget it! Really awesome!)

The cover track 'GAGAGA' of their debut single

I also love the cover track of their 2nd single '愛、チュセヨ' (Ai, Chuseyu) a lot!
(Don't watch this at work or school. NSFW)

For the 3rd single, what actually caught my attention the most is the SDN48's version of Everyday、カチューシャ (Everyday, Kachuusha). Would be really interesting =3 Wonder how it would be like. (My recent post on Everyday Kachuusha here: Tracklist, PV)
Another thing that caught my attention is the 'Singapore Concert Documentary'. I was at that concert, loved it a lot, and have been wishing for a DVD or at least a LOD (Live on Demand) of that concert. Wonder what would the documentary would be like. ^^ Anyways, no matter what, I am so going to get the Type B of SDN48's 3rd single! (Booked it already in fact XD)

Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 8th Single - へたっぴウィンク (Hetappi Wink)

News release of the 8th single was already announced long before the title was even released. Nearly a month ago, I received an newsletter from CDJapan which mentioned that Warota's 8th single is available for preorders already, even though there was still no album art, or even the title. The single would be official released on 3rd of August.

"Watari Roka Hashiri Tai 7/Title is to be announced" (From the email a month ago - posted here in my blog)

It was really surprising to see that the number 7 again as it was taken to be temporary for 'Valentine Kiss', which was released for Valentine's Day, and for 'Mamma, Grazie!' (Italian for 'Thank you, Mother'), which was released for Mothers' Day. Furthermore, Iwasa Misaki has already changed agencies, from Ogi Pro, which is the agency Warota is under, to Nagara Production, which is famous for enka talents. (Wasamin's dream is to be an enka singer, thus explains the switch in agencies)
I guess the plans for 'Hetappi Wink' and 'Mamma, Grazie!' was made before Wasamin switched to Nagara Pro. So, this could really be the last time we would be seeing a 7 member Warota? Most probably, unless OgiPro and NagaraPro collaborate, which is very unlikely.

Anyways, back to the new single, there would be 4 different types, Type A, B, C and the Regular Edition. If you have noticed, へたっぴ (Hetappi) is the cuter way of saying 下手くそ (Hetakuso), which means 'lack of skill'. Thus the title would actually mean 'Lacking in skill to wink'. Even the title sounds cute already >//< can't wait for it to be released!

Types A, B and C would include a trading card randomly selected from 7 kinds, and one from 3 kinds for the Regular Edition. First Press would also include an application card for the event, which is valid only in Japan. There would be a bonus photo if bought from CDJapan.

Type A (CD+DVD) Limited Edition
1. [CD] へたっぴウィンク (Hetappi Wink)
2. [CD] マンマ、グラッチェ! (Mamma, Grazie!)
3. [CD] ビキニは似合わない (Bikini wa Niawanai)
4. [CD] へたっぴウィンク (Instrumental)
5. [CD] マンマ、グラッチェ! (Instrumental)

It was only this year that I took note of this sub-group more,  through their 7th single, 'Valentine Kiss'. It was also that very Promotion Video of that song that Wasamin (Iwasa Misaki) caught my eye and thus added her into my favourite list! >w<
Other than 'Valentine Kiss' and 'Yuuhi no Ijiwaru', after listening to Watarirouka Hashiritai's past singles, I also love quite a few other songs like, 'Kaze no Violin', 'Yaruki Hanabi', 'Kanpeki Gu~ No Ne' and 'Gyu'. I especially love the Mayuyu (Watanabe Mayu) solo tracks and am totally looking forward to this new single, especially Mayuyu's solo of course! She is also one of my top favourites! >w<

AKB48 24th Single Senbatsu to be decided by Janken

Like last year's 19th single 'Chance no Junban', there would be a Janken Tournament for AKB48's 24th single, which would be held on the 20th of September at the Nippon Budoukan. All AKB48 members and kenkyuuseis, 5 SKE members, and 5 NMB48 members would be taking part in this tournament. There would be a preliminary round for the SKE48 and NMB48 members, where only 5 participants would be chosen for the Janken Tournament. The top 16 members of the tournament would make up the 24th single's Senbatsu (19th single for last year) and the remaining members would be either in Undergirls or Theater Girls.

Last year, when it was announced during the 'Surprise wa Arimasen Concert' at Yoyogi National Gymnasium on 11 July 2010, which brought much shock and mixed reactions amongst fans. The results of last years also brought mixed reactions, with quite a handful of fans being disappointed and not buying the 19th single. I am actually rather okay with it as through this single, the not so popular members at least can get the chance to be at the front, which is not possible unless the management gives enough push by promoting them, considering the front members already have a considerable amount of fans.

Here are the results for last year:
---Senbatsu---
01. Uchida Mayumi
02. Ishida Haruka
03. Kojima Haruna
04. Nakagawa Haruka
05. Maeda Ami
06. Sato Sumire
07. Sato Natsuki
08. Takajo Aki
09. Nakatsuka Tomomi
10. Kuramochi Asuka
11. Kobayashi Kana
12. Tanabe Miku
12. Kasai Tomomi
13. Matsui Sakiko
14. Maeda Atsuko
15. Chikano Rina

Chance no Junban (Cover track)
Senbatsu Members

Yoyaku shita Christmas
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko , Takahashi Minami, Takajo Aki, Maeda Atsuko, Maeda Ami
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae
Team B: Kasai Tomomi, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kitahara Rie, Komori Mika, Watanabe Mayu

Kurumi to Dialogue
All Team A members

ALIVE
All Team K members

Love Jump
All Team B members

Fruits Snow
Team Kenkyusei

(I like 'Kurumi to Dialogue' the most amongst all the tracks in this single ^^)

This year, the announcement of the 24th single's Janken Tournament was made during the AKB48's Everyday Kachuusha big handshake event and it wasn't that surprising to me as compared to last year. Already expected it to happen as the singles released seems to follow a pattern.

16th single (Ponytail to Shushu) and 21st single (Everyday Kachuusha), both released in May of 2010 and 2011 respectively, contains the voting serial number for the 2nd and 3rd Senbatsu Elections respectively. The PVs for both single's cover tracks are also similar in a way, bikini girls. >//<

17th single (Heavy Rotation) and 22nd single (Flying Get), both released/to be released in August of 2010 and 2011 respectively, are the first singles right after the Senbatsu Elections and it was predicted that the singing styles of both to be similar. In fact, the singing style of 'Heavy Rotation' is rather similar to 'Iiwake Maybe', cover song for the 13th single, which is the first single right after the 1st Senbatsu Elections.

For the 23rd single, it was announce that it would be released in October. Both the 14th single's (River) and the 18th single's (Beginner) theme are rather fierce and thus the 23rd single was predicted by fans, including me, to be similarly themed too.

Coming back to the 24th single, it was already predicted to be similar as last year's 19th single (Chance no Junban) where the Senbatsu members for the single would be decided by a Janken Tournament. Thus not really surprising to most fans.

Last year I was really happy that my oshimen, Akicha (Takajo Aki), made it into the Senbatsu at the 8th position but am also quite disappointed that my second favourite member, Yukirin (Kashiwagi Yuki), did not make it into the Senbatsu at all.

This year I hope that both Akicha and Yukirin can make it into the Senbatsu for this 24th single. Wish them the best of luck for the tournament! Additionally, I also hope that Paruru (Shimazaki Haruka), Matsui Rena (SKE48), Matsui Jurina (SKE48) and/or Yamamoto Sayaka (NMB48) would make it into Senbatsu too! Last year, when Paruru was still in Kenkyuusei, only 4 members from Team Kenkyuusei was chosen to participate in last year's tournament, and she was not chosen. This year, it would be the first time for Paruru and for the members of SKE48 and NMB48. I shall also wish them the best of luck. ^^

UPDATE (5th July):

SKE48 will hold their preliminary janken tournament on Jul 20, all members + research students (57 total) to participate
http://natalie.mu/music/news/52466

NMB48's preliminary janken tournament will be held on Jul 16 at Zepp Osaka, 47 participants

AKB48's Official Rival Confirmed!

Recently there was a shocking news claiming that Akimoto Yasushi is producing a new group, not another '48' sister group though, but an official AKB48 rival called 乃木坂46 (Nogizaka46), under Sony Music label. (AKB48 was once under DefStar Records, a sublabel of Sony Music, before the switch to King Records. AKB48 wasn't that popular before the switch). The person in-charge of the project mentioned this during an interview, 'As I thought, "Nogashita Sakanatachi" was huge. It is a chagrin that Sony's staff feels. So this time, it is with that feeling that we will strike hard with this project. This will be a serious competitior and strike AKB48 hard.' The article was from Weekly Playboy, where Eguchi Aimi appeared in and revealing that she was CG.

I was initially in doubt as to whether it would be a real rival or just some temporary project for commercial means. However, it was just officially confirmed that 'Nogizaka46' would be a real project! Wonder how it would be like but I shall see how it goes. Not really anticipating for some serious rivalry but then, am not entirely not anticipating. =X

It was revealed that the the name, 'Nogizaka' (which is not abbreviated) derived from SME's Nogizaka Building, the final audition location. As for the '46', it was said to be "Even if we have less members than AKB48, we wont lose".

The first round of auditions, which is the applications, started yesterday and ends on 20th July. The second round, the interviews, will be taking place in 7 cities (Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Okinawa) on 6th to 7th August. The final round, which consists of dance and vocal is scheduled to be held on 20th to 21st August. Nogizaka46 would then debut in September.

Girls aged 12 to 24 are welcomed and overseas foreigners are also accepted for the auditions. 20 members would form the first generation members, a CD debut under Sony is planned, and they would be having their own theater at the SME Nogizaka Building.

On top of all these, a variety show (like AKB48's 1ji0ji, AKBINGO!, etc) of their own would start this October, titled 'AKB48 History', with the channel and time slot still unknown. (Wonder why that title)

Sounds interesting and maybe through this more people might be able to see how AKB48 struggled when they first debuted? After typing this post, I kind of looking forward to how it would be like when Nogizaka46 is formed! XD
