Azusa Nakano 1/8 scale PVC figurine arrived!

Refer to my posts:
Nakano Azusa of K-ON!
Kanade Puchi arrived!

As mentioned on my post on Saturday, I went to collect my Azusa figure once I got my allowance to pay the remaining balance. =3

With extreme care, I took out the white sheet of paper covering the box and slowly peel away at the tape that was taping the lid of the box down. Slowly and carefully, I took out Azusa from the box and fixed on the stand. =]

My Azusa-chan looks very kawaii, don't she? ^^

Okuno @ Resin Life

Refer to post:
Resin Life: An Asian Ball-Joint Dolls Photography Exhibition

Today I made a trip down to The Arts House with some of my club's members (Singapore Polytechnic Japanese Cultural Club), after I did a model photoshoot for a friend of mine (refer to my blog post on my another blog here), to take a look at the Ball-Joint Dolls Photography Exhibition by Diana Lim.

The print outs of the photographs are simply amazing. Very good control of the exposure, depth of field and great composition. In my opinion, they do worth the price they are listed at (SGD200/SGD300)! I would definitely buy those masterpieces without hesitation, if I had that money to spare. Well, I could only admire them and use the concepts behind the photos as reference =/

(the photographs are in frames with very reflective glass, thus the glare on it in the photos below)

I am totally so impressed by the photographs! Before making our leave, we wrote on a page of the guest book a big 'SPJCC' with what we want to say around it. Seems that we have been starting to mark our presence as a club where ever we go! XD

Kanade Puchi arrived!

Refer to my posts:
Dengeki Gs Magazine - August 2010 with Tenshi Nendoroid Puchi
Nakano Azusa of K-ON!

Was browsing Anime News Network when I received an email saying that two of my preorders are ready for collection! I went to collect the Dengeki Gs Magazine first as I only have enough money to pay the remaining balance for that mag. For the Azusa figure, maybe on Monday when I get my allowance? (As long as I collect before Tuesday which is the deadline) >_<

Kanade-chan explores my home~

Apirl Fools joke become real?

According to the interview, Danny Choo's announcement of a new anime title, Chinka, was indeed an April Fools day joke. However, as words spread and due to the increasing number of supporters, Danny Choo and his folks decided to go ahead to produce the title.
The anime would be licensed and most probably would be expected to be out next year.

Storyline from dannychoo.com:
"Since a few years ago, there have been many cases of arson.
In the rural town of Kiyotaki, situated in a beautiful mountain valley, the town folks are talking about the legendary arsonist, Akaneko [赤猫].
The police have completely given up on Akaneko, who has slipped through their fingers every time.
The town's only hope is its one and only firefighting team - the Mizuneko [水猫] Fire Brigade. But because of their destructive fire fighting ways, they too are feared by the town folk. Almost every night, Akaneko and the Mizuneko Fire Brigade fight fiercely, taking down many of the town's buildings in the process. The Mizuneko Fire Brigade have depleted most of the town's financial resources so the town ends up on the verge of bankruptcy. The town was in a critical state when Chinka, a girl with a superhuman ability to smell out fires appears. With her powers, the Mizuneko Fire Brigade close in on the true identity of Akaneko..."

Another great news is that there would be figures and other merchandise made for the series as well as a dolls as mascots!

Wow.. now I can't wait to the release of Chinka! All the best Danny Choo!! ^^

Life-Size Evangelion Bust's Grand Opening to Be Streamed Live

Japan's Fuji-Q HighLand amusement park has unveiled the world's first life-size bust of the Evangelion anime's EVA-01 unit before members of the media on Thursday. The public grand opening of the "Evangelion: World - Life-Size EVA-01 Construction Project" pavilion will actually take place next Friday, and the theme park plans to stream the event live on the Ustream website.

The pavilion's main attraction recreates the scene where the anime's main character Shinji Ikari encounters the EVA-01 unit in its 7th Cage hangar for the first time. The bust measures 9 meters (about 30 feet) tall and 16 meters (52 feet) wide. The pavilion also has a life-size Entry Plug cockpit of an Evangelion unit (from where visitors can pay to have their photos taken), life-size figures of the character Kaworu Nagisa and the Seele monoliths, a miniature video theater, a museum, two studio galleries for taking photographs, and a shop. The construction costs of the whole facility eventually added up to 150 million yen (US$1.6 million).

The pavillion's official website is streaming the sixth and final progress report video on its construction. The video includes a summary of the previous videos, a tour of the facility, and a sneak peak of the life-size bust. The following websites have posted images from the press tour:

* Jiji Press
* Walker Plus
* Sankei Sports
* Response.jp

Fuji-Q HighLand is located near the foot of Mt. Fuji, and it has already hosted two amusement park attractions based on the Gundam anime franchise in the past, including a life-size Gundam figure (lying down on the ground). A second life-size Gundam figure stood on Tokyo's artificial Odaiba island last summer, and it will stand again with a full-length beam saber in Shizuoka, the home of Bandai's main Gundam plastic model kit factory. The city of Kobe unveiled a life-size figure of Tetsujin 28-gō (Ironman 28 or Gigantor), the manga/anime robot created by Kobe native Mitsuteru Yokoyama.

あなたのVOYAKILOID (Your Voyakiloid)

Song: あなたのVOYAKILOID (Your Voyakiloid) by 弱音ハク (Yowane Haku)
Origin:  あなたの歌姫 (Your Diva) by 初音ミク (Hatsune Miku)
Translation:
This house's computer is my new bar
From today, I'm your Yowane Haku and you'll say I'm hopeless
Hold on, what should I write? A page full of "It's horrible"?
Yes, your comment is about that green tsundere
You used to value me, but it really didn't mean anything
I'm Yowane Haku, your only Voyakiloid in the world
When I met you, I began to complain even more
And today, I'm hearing your own complaints again
During the supposed-to-be-quiet drinking hour
I wonder if you can still produce something good today?
Sake is the perfect evening drink for a Yowane Haku
I want to tell everyone what I feel
But I chose to be worthless
I have the voice of a singing robot, always and forever
And that can't be fixed
I'm fine as I am, really
You're only my drinking buddy after all
I'll keep drinking since I'm your only Voyakiloid in the world
