CureMaid Cafe has a promotional event for all the Gurren Lagann fans out there. This event will last from Friday 22nd August and will last till 15th September. Customers can get to try specifically designated menus as well as purchase character goods from the cafe. For those who are going to be in Japan during this length of time, then maybe you have the opportunity to try out this interesting event at the cafe. It sure looks good in my eyes and I wish I could go.

Chobits Photoshoot
Woke up kinda early today to prepare for a whole-day-photoshoot for two cosplayers cosplaying Chi and Freya from the anime, Chobits. I went to meet up with Bell-chan first at Jurong East MRT station before heading off to Chinese Garden to meet up with the team. We reach Chinese Garden rather early (18 minutes earlier than the actual meeting time) and waited for the team at the entrance. I let Bell-chan to play with my PSP and found that I really am that bad at DJ Max, but on the other hand am much stronger in Audition Portable and Project Diva (which is supposed to be more difficult than DJ Max in many ways). Met with SSA, who is in a Naruto photoshoot, there before the team I'm in arrive and chatted for a while with him.
When the team arrived, I made friends with the photographers and chatted with them, about photography of course. That's what usually happens when two or more photographers come together to chat. After waiting for some more people, we set off to the Chinese Garden to commence with our shoot. At the shoot I used two lenses, one SLR (single-lens reflex -- film) and a DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) my friend, Jian Ping, lent me to use. At first I struggled with the DSLR as I was quite accustomed to my SLR but slowly I got more and more used to the controls of the DSLR and the pictures I took got better and better over time through the photoshoot. I am totally amazed by what the DSLR was able to do! By the way, it is the Canon EOS 40D, which is in the prosumer range of DSLR. Impressive! I am also honoured that he could entrust the DSLR to me to use for the day and to return to him the following day.
Around afternoon, we set off for lunch at Burger King in Vivo City but found that there were not enough seats, thus we ordered 'take away' and moved off to the next photoshoot destination, which is at Carribean, near Vivo City. The place is just amazing, the condominiums and the surrounding infrastructures are just too beautiful. Must be very expensive to buy an apartment here! We found seats at the barbeque pit there and we had our Burger King before the shoot there starts.
We had some shots at a stairway, some rooms, near the pool and on a bridge outside the Carribean before we headed off to dinner at Pizzahut, which is followed by the farewell. Had a great day at the photoshoot that day and I did learned a lot from her pros there (One of the main reason to join photoshoots: To learn from the pros). I can say this is one of the best photoshoot I experienced so far!

Nice drink to quench the thirst after a long tiring day!

Preordered the Akiyama Mio figma!
Akiyama Mio, the easily embarrassed and shy left bassist from the popular anime, K-ON! came as a figma (~13.5cm in height) last month and would be re-released on June 2010.
It comes with three facial expressions (smiling, frightened and embarrassed), her base guitar with strap and case, various hand parts and a stand. It's up for pre-order now for $110 ($10 deposit required) at Kurocha! and many other online stores.
