Matsui Sakiko Solo Debut - '呼吸するピアノ' ('Kokyuusuru Piano')

Last month it was announced that Matsui Sakiko will be making her solo debut as a pianist with her piano album release on the 3rd of October. Sakiko is currently a senior majoring in piano in the Department of Instrumental Music at Tokyo College of Music, and the only AKB48 member enrolled in a music college. Before the announcement last month, Sakiko had already been performing her piano skills in several AKB48 concerts and I totally love it whenever she's playing the piano.

With her solo debut, Sakiko will be the 6th from AKB48 to become a soloist - since she will debut earlier than Yukirin - and the first to debut as a pianist.

The cover of the CD+DVD version was illustrated by fellow AKB48 member, Sato Natsuki, which was chosen from amongst many other illustrations drawn by other AKB48 members. The cover of the CD-Only version was directed by another AKB48 member, Ishida Haruka.

Music Video Request 2012 Voting

As mentioned in my previous post, the AKB48 4th album will come with a voting ticket to vote for a song, which does not have a music video, to be made into one and be included in AKB48's 29th single.

A scan of the QR code on the voting ticket will bring the phone to the site to vote. Alternatively, the site address can be entered manually - http://akb48-musicvideo2012.jp/.

The first option lets you find the songs grouped according to their first hiragana character of the title.

The second option is where the songs are grouped according to their stage performances and CD couplings.

Much awaited parcel!

Initially I was expecting my orders from CDJapan will reach around today afternoon and as usual will miss it, ending up need to collect from my neighbourhood post office two days later.
Just a few minutes before knocking off from work, I received a call from the deliveryman saying that he is at my doorsteps and nobody is opening the door. I was really surprised as this was the first time a deliveryman bothered to call me when no one is at home to receive the parcel on my behalf! I really want to compliment the deliveryman but forgot to get his name, with all the rushing back home from my workplace - which is just 10 minutes walk away from home.

The parcel today is one of the biggest I received as it contains two albums, one single and a poster for each.

As usual, CDJapan's packing is always impressive. Very well-protected with a lot green paper and items are taped down to the box...

... and the posters are rolled neatly and kept in hard cardboard tubes!

Now I am left with Yukirin. Two days ago I collected my orders of French Kiss singles from a friend and got from it two Akicha and one special event ticket (which is like lucky draw and appear in not much of the singles distributed released as 'First Press'). In the past singles I have been hoping for the ticket but to no avail. This time I managed to get it but I am soon to be enlisted into National Service. TAT What kind of luck is this?! Well, this ticket shall be of memory purpose and be kept in my album unused. Can say I am stingy but I really want to keep it as memento of first time getting a special event ticket - which I can't attend!

And now for AKB48's 4th album!

It came with a photo book, a bonus photo, a voting ticket for the MV request I mentioned in my post about the 4th album, and a poster. The photo is random and I received Tomochin, one of my favourite members in AKB48. Though I really wished for either Akicha (AKB48) or Matsui Rena (SKE48), but I guess I have to look for those two on auction sites or amongst friends.

Shall open up the posters soon and cast my vote for 'Bird' from Team A's 3rd Stage to be made into a music video. Am really curious if it is made into a PV, what will it be like! Love the song a lot.

SKE48 1st Album - 'この日のチャイムを忘れない' ('Konohi no Chime wo Wasurenai')

Also announced at the SKE48's 9th Single, 'Aishiteraburu!', handshake event, SKE48 will be releasing their first album on the same date as their 10th single, on the 19th of September. It is titled 'この日のチャイムを忘れない' ('Konohi no Chime wo Wasurenai') and will include all title tracks from their previously released singles as well as covers of AKB48's songs. More details are yet to be announced.

AKB48 4th Album - 1830m

It was announced at a handshake event of their latest single 'Manatsu no Sounds good!' in Saitama Super Arena on 24th of June that they will be releasing their 4th album on the 15th of August. The titled was revealed to be '1830m' yesterday at a handshake event at Marine Messe in Fukuoka.
1830m represents the distance between AKB48 Theatre and Tokyo Dome.
(Their 3-Day concert at Tokyo Dome is titled 'AKB48 in TOKYO DOME ~1830m no Yume~')

It was revealed that a voting ticket will be included in the album where fans get to vote for a song, which does not have a music video, to be made into one and it will be included in AKB48's 29th single.
Eligible songs includes coupling songs and songs from their stage performances, and excludes songs from sister groups and sub-units.
Voting starts on 15th of August 10am (JST) and ends on 20th September 3pm (JST).

Oricon reported that '1830m' sold 625,401 copies in the first day, exceeding the first week sales of AKB48's previous album 'ここにいたこと' ('Koko ni Ita Koto') and clinching the top in Oricon daily album rankings.

UPDATE (17th September):
Total sales reached 1,002,000 copies after 5 weeks since its release. This is AKB48’s very first album to sell over a million copies and the first time in a year and 11 months for an original album to have sales over a million copies, and also the first time in nearly 9 years for a female group to achieve the million mark for album sales.
It's also been 10 years since an artiste/a group last sold over a million copies for both singles and albums within the same year. Hamasaki Ayumi accomplished that feat back in 2002 with her single "H" and album "I am…".

Some people might feel there's nothing much special and thus not getting it (seriously I saw some people who thought that way) but I feel that this is like a consolidation or summary of SDN48 through their past singles. What's more, the DVD interested me the most as it features the history of SDN48 all the way from their auditions to the recent AKB48 request hour, plus interviews with the SDN48 members.

UPDATE (24th February):
The new song '1 Garon no Ase' would be sang by Akita Kazue, Umeda Haruka, Uchino Kazumi, Ohori Megumi, Kato Mami, Kouchi Masami, Kohara Haruka, Sato Yukari, Serina, Noro Kayo, Kimoto Yuki, and Fujikoso Yumi.

SDN48 releasing their last Single & Album in March

SDN48 announced that they would be releasing their 5th (and last) Single, titled '負け惜しみコングラチュレーション' ('Makeohismi Congratulation') on 7th of March and their first album on the 14th of March.
It was also revealed that 'Makeoshimi Congratulation' would be generic idol like, thus not having the usual sexy and seductiveness, and the members would be wearing school uniforms, which is considered proper for their graduation.

No other details are revealed as of yet. Below are the comments by the SDN48 members regarding the upcoming single.

今回の曲は、SDN48の今までのイメージとガラっと変わり、アイドルアイドルしている曲調なんです♪衣装も制服で可愛い!! なので、いつものセクシーお姉さんが今回は可愛いらしいSDN48!!! そこのギャップを見てもらいたいです。踊っていてもすっごく楽しい曲です。

浦野一美
最後にして、初のまさかの爽やかな王道アイドルソング!! 48グループ在籍6年間の想いを込めて100％アイドルで歌わせて頂きました（笑） 衣装は、今までのSDN48には無かった、まさかの制服です。久々の制服は なんだか恥ずかしいような気もしますがこの衣装には メンバー全員のメッセージが描いてあったり生地はウエディング仕様だったりとにかく、こだわって作って下さいました。新しいスタートに相応しい気持ちも明るくなる一曲だと思います。

加藤雅美
3月31日に、全員卒業が発表された中これが最後のシングルなのでとても燃えてます！ 男女ともに共感できる曲だと思いますしこの曲を聴いて大切な人を大切にしてほしいです。39人で最後まで全力でかけぬけます！

河内麻沙美
表題曲で可愛らしい楽曲は初めてなので今までの大人かっこいい私たちとは違う可愛らしいSDN48に注目していただきたいです。衣装には、私たちの思いが英語で書かれています。歌詞を読むと10年後の一人一人がすごく楽しみになります。

梅田悠
間奏の手をブンブン回すところは是非一緒に踊ってください！ メンバーのラストシングルに対する思いが英語でプリントされている衣装にも注目です！ 皆の思いを背負って歌います!!!!

穐田和恵
メッセージ性の強い歌詞と、ノリが良くキャッチーなメロディーが、ずっと耳に残りますし一度聞いて、大好きになりました!! 素晴らしい楽曲なので聞いて下さった皆さんの心に、“SDN48”を刻みたいです！

SDN48の最後のシングルに、ふさわしい曲だと思います。明るくて楽しくて、でもちょっと切ない曲です。メンバーやスタッフ、ファンのみなさんへの感謝の気持ちを込めて楽しんで歌わさせていただきたいと思います。

この曲は、悲しくても明るく乗り越えるという気持ちが、卒業を控える自分に重なるんです。秋元先生が書いてくださった「幸せになれ！」という歌詞のように、私達もみんなも幸せになれるように、感謝の気持ちを込めて全力スマイルでお届けしたいです！

SUPER☆GiRLS 2nd Album - 'EveryBody JUMP!!'

Last year, it was announced that SUPER☆GiRLS would be releasing their 2nd album 'EveryBody JUMP!!' on the 1st of February 2012. The album would be having 13 tracks, including 'がんばって 青春' ('Ganbatte Seishun'), 'ＭＡＸ！乙女心' ('MAX! Otome Gokoro'), and '女子力←パラダイス' ('Joshiryoku←Paradise').

They held a free mini-live and handshake event at Yoyogi Park as part of their promotion for their album yesterday and it attracted a rather huge crowd of about 5000 fans!

French Kiss 5th Single & 1st Album

It was just blogged on Ameba by Kashiwagi Yuki (from AKB48 and sub-unit 'French Kiss') that French Kiss is currently working on their 5th single and that their first album would be released within this year. More details are yet to be announced.

Like their 4th Single, 'Saisho no Mail', I am going to support their 5th Single and 1st Album, full force! >D
