At a flash some here are some of the events coming up in these two months:

夏祭り2010 NatsuMatsuri 2010

Description: As usual, there will be a lineup of booths selling Japanese Food and Japanese Traditional games Funfair and not forgetting the famous bon odori dance every year. For those who are members of JAS, there will be 5000 tickets on sale from 12 July 2010 at the JAS front office if you are not an member of the Association , you are advised to queue up early from the afternoon to get the tickets which will be priced at SGD$2. All payments are in cash.

Obi and Yukata rental: There will be renting of obis and yukatas at the event it'self priced at $2 for yukata and $1 for the obis.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT NATSUMATSURI IS A JAPANESE TRADITIONAL CULTURAL EVENT ,PLEASE DO NOT WEAR YOUR COSPLAY/LOLITA/PUNK COSTUMES OR WIELD ANY WEAPONS/PROPS. IN SHORT, CIVILIAN CLOTHING, OBIS AND YUKATAS ONLY. 

Mikuni Shimokawa & Band ASIAN LOVERS Tour 2010 “Replay” in Singapore

Details: After her previous successful concerts and tour to Asian countries like China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Mikuni Shimokawa will be hitting Singapore next on 22nd August for her ASIAN LOVERS Tour 2010 “Replay”.

She is well known throughout Asia for her ever popular songs used in the “Full Metal Panic” animation series and her successful singing career. She is not only a singer and songwriter, but also a regular radio personality hosting 4 talk shows which has been receiving hot support from her fans.

Ever since her first overseas performance in Taiwan 2007 which attracted over more than 600 fans, her fanbase outside of Japan has been growing fast. Since then she has been performing live frequently in Asian countries like Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and more.

Due to her popularity her album is often released not only in Japan, but also in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan on the same date concurrently. In 2009, her album “Tsubasa- Very Best Mikuni Shimokawa” peaked at the top 3 best sales releases for Japanese and Korean music in Hong Kong which further proves her singing abilities and popularity.

A.C.M.E ~A Certain Magical Event~ II

Description:
Touhou Hisoutensoku Tournament
We had great games with the Touhou fans last year and the tournament is back again! This tournament will be using Touhou Hisoutensoku (12.3, patch 1.10) and prizes to be won!

Tournament Timings :
12pm sharp - Briefing and draw for starting match-up. Followed by warm-up matches / practice matches.
1pm sharp - First knock-out round begins.
3pm sharp - Quarter-finals begins followed by Semi-finals.
4pm sharp - Final Match.
