Eguchi Aimi's Portrait Stolen from AKB48 Theater

It was announce on the AKB48 offical blog that the photograph of 江口愛実 (Eguchi Aimi) was stolen yesterday when the monthly photo sets went on sale. It was most probably due to the messy crowd and chaotic situation of photo trading that the portrait was managed to be stolen without being noticed.

The portraits of the AKB48 and SDN48 members are hung along the long corridor leading from the entrance to the lobby. Glass panel barriers, which was not initially installed, are being used as a protection to prevent fingerprints and from being damaged.

There was an incident, around end of 2007 to the start of 2008, where the massive crowd there knocked off Cindy's Portrait (Team B leader that time) and it broke. The incident turned dramatic when one of her oshimen screamed out her name and knelt by the broken portrait. I guess it was ever since, glass panel barriers were put in place.

However, the portraits of the 12th Generation Kenkyuuseis were not protected by the glass panel barriers and that was where Aimi's portrait was placed.

This was the first time that a portrait is ever stolen from the theater and Mr Togasaki believes that it proves the strong trust bond that exists between the theater and the fans, and that the act of theft was due to sudden impulse, hoping that it would be returned to the theater. He believes that such an incident would not happen again.

June Photo Set Sales (Part 2)

Today was a total opposite of yesterday, taking into account that I am mainly focusing on Akicha (Takajo Aki) photos, which... I did not get any. As for SKE48 photo set, I gave up, there's only less than 5 sets for each members that were sold out yesterday and those includes Rena, Jurina and Kuumin, which I were aiming for. Still pondering on Oya Masana and Ogiso Shiroi but well, did not have enough cash anyways. =X

Anyways, today I bought the Team A emblem (like all previous photos sales, one need to buy a merchandise from the store before being able to buy a photo set).

From the photo set, I got a Ota Aika, a Nakaya Sayaka, a Shinoda Mariko, a Takahashi Minami and a Kuramochi Asuka. I traded one of my Maeda Ami that I got yesterday for a Kuramochi Asuka, as the person needed the Aamin photo I am holding on to. Thus, I ended with two Mocchi!

Did not get any Akicha photos today from the pack nor from trades. No one is willing to trade or sell the June Akicha photo they have, which I need, and out of a sudden MORE people are collecting Akicha! TAT Why the sudden increase in Akicha fans/collectors?! I initially have two competitors only, one being collect them all while the other likes Akicha but still collect many other members too. Now, found 4 that are either completed their June Akicha set or lack one piece! I only want Akicha.. but then why... why... T_T (The critical reason is they have more money and have proxies - people that help them buy - as one customer can only buy one pack of AKB48 and one pack SKE48 at max)

Heard that there would be a final photo sale on Saturday next week. Hope I would have better luck the next time then =[

June Photo Set Sales (Part 1)

Woke up real early today and took the second train (missed the first train) down to *Scape to join the queue outside the AKB48 Official Shop Singapore for the 2nd run of limited release of June Theater photos and the extremely limited release of SKE48 Japan Theater photos. Was shocked to see the massive queue outside *Scape initially but when I noticed that it was for SHINEE (concert I think) I gave a sigh of relief ^o^"
Managed to get queue number 38. Many of them camped over night and actually in fact, I am the first to arrive amongst those who did not camp outside the official shop. Damn... I missed the SKE48 Matsui Rena photo set! =[ There would only be 5 sets of each SKE48 member today!

Anyways, today can be considered the best day ever in terms of AKB48 photo trading! I bought one pack of Team A photo set and a Team A charm, and from the pack I got a Maeda Ami, a Maeda Atsuko, a Natsumi Matsubara, a Haruka Katayama, and a Nakata Chisato.

Traded the June Maeda Atsuko photo for a June Takajo Aki, another Haruka Katayama, and another Nakata Chisato, 1 for 3! Very good deal! ^^ I later then traded the Nakata Chisato for a Kitahara Rie (exclusive from Overseas book) photo.
After much more trading here and there, I ended with...

A June Takajo Aki, an Overseas Kitahara Rie, 1 June Natsumi Matsubara, 2 June Maeda Ami, 2 Haruka Katayama
(By the way, the charm I mentioned earlier is the pink colour A in the middle of the picture)

An April Takajo Aki (bottom left)

A June Takajo Aki (top right)
thus completing my June Akicha set!! Banzai!! ^o^

Did not get the SKE48 photo set as I actually wanted only Rena, Jurina or Kuumin but those ran out of stock before it's my turn to enter the store. Was pondering on Oya Masana and Ogiso Shiori but did not buy them as I was thinking of saving for tomorrow to try complete my Akicha June photo set.

AKB48 Singapore Theatre 'LIVE' Vol.5 - SKE48 1st Stage

I really have to mention this first - SKE48's concert just feels totally different from the the sister groups, AKB48 and SDN48, which performed in the past few concerts in Singapore. There is so much energy! The members were also very very friendly, especially during the handshake session after the concert. (I deliberately used two 'very' to emphasize) >w<

Anyways, zooming back to earlier today when I just finished my lessons in school, which was around way before noon. (Wednesday is a very short day for me in school) I was taking the train down to City Hall with my classmates to Marina Square for lunch and a short walk before going back to school (for project or activities, in the case of my friends and to replace the faulty LEDs on my SKE48 board for my case), when a friend of mine contacted me, saying that some of the SKE48 members (including Pippi and Rumi, who are my favourites) would be taking a walk down Orchard giving out flyers. I did not make my way to Somerset to tag along as I want to go back to school to replace the LEDs, which is more important - going to use the SKE48 board later in the evening for the concert). However, out of disappointment, after waiting for so long in school for the LEDs, I still did not get to get the LEDs as when I followed the TSO down to the store then we realize the person in charge was on leave, out of a sudden. Can't blame either of them much though since I am getting the LEDs for free... Just have to blame on my luck.

With this, I missed the chance to walk down Orchard with my favourite SKE48 members and also, I did not get to get the flyers! D< I have been collecting all the flyers that AKB48 Singapore have been giving out so far, and this time it ran out before I reach *Scape after rushing over from school - after realizing that I can't get the LEDs today. Now just how can I ever get the SKE48 flyers already >[

Putting the complaining and whining aside, when I reached *Scape, I was delighted to find that the alphabet block that I am in (printed on the ticket) was balloted to be 4th to enter the concert venue (*Scape 2F Warehouse). Finally I get to be a bit more front and get a better view! The concert was totally brimming with energy, not only in the singing but also in the dance. Was totally enjoying myself there, waving my light sticks so much that they felt very sore and shouting so much that I was near to losing my voice! After their last song (before the encore) everyone took out their yellow light sticks (arranged and given out by a group of fans. Thanks! ^^) and kept on shouting 'Reika' instead of 'encore', as it would be Reika Yamada's (山田澪花) birthday tomorrow and if I remember correctly, yellow is her favourite colour.

The SKE48 members came out with their encore songs first, including the song from the latest single releases today 'パレオはエメラルド' (Pareo wa Emerald) - which I have been wishing for. The lights suddenly went out for a while, as a cake came out from the backstage. Reika was really very touched as we wished her happy birthday and sang the birthday song. おたんじょうびおめでとう, れいちゃん!!
(Only if Rena came for this Singapore stage performance as it's her birthday today =[ Anyways, おたんじょうびおめでとう, れな!! ^o^)

It was announced later on that three of the SKE48 members would not be at the handshaking session as according to the Japanese law, those aged below 16 cannot work after 9pm. Was a bit disappointed as I could not wish Reika 'Happy Birthday' again during handshake, but well law is law.

I really have to emphasize on this, the SKE48 members are so friendly during the handshake event!! Like all other handshake events, the staff would push us when the next girl is waiting and have no one to shake hand with or when the line is going too slow. If fact, they push us every time, with an exception with the handshaking session before Vol.2.
AKB48's handshake session was rather standard, SDN's was rather seductive - especially Meetan's, and for SKE48.. super friendly!
Despite the staff keep on pushing us while we were shaking hands, almost all of the SKE48 members kept holding on to our hands, as if refusing to let go.
Especially the last member in the line, 阿比留李帆 (Abiru Riho), who held on to my hands while I was pushed by the staff till a state where both our hands were fully extended. It was as if we were being pulled apart instead of our hands letting go! >//< (and I am not exaggerating, just ask the other people who went for that concert and you would know)
During the handshaking session, some of the members even remembered me and the SKE48 board I made! Was so exhilarated >w<

We waited for the handshake session to end and went to the back door area to wait for them to come out and board the van parked outside.

They were so friendly even while waving to us in the van! This concert I guess, would just be the most memorable one so far! I believe one can never get this much interaction, from walking with them down orchard till the end of the concert, from other artiste! Indeed the concept of 'Idols you can meet'!

My post on the details of the concert here.

Welcoming SKE48 members & Cafe Private Event

Managed to rush my board half way done but still rather presentable. As my printer at home ran out of ink, I printed the pictures of all the SKE48 members that would be performing (refer to my previous post for the member list) in school yesterday. The school printer have not had a maintenance for some time already I guess, there were some minor color distortions at certain areas and there were blue dots here and there at certain areas. They are not very too obvious though luckily.

I stapled black paper on a wooden-framed cork-board, and pasted the photos onto the black paper. This way I can actually not only no need to worry too much of the board being badly damaged by bumping here and there while traveling as wood is stronger than those paper boards, cardboard or corrugated boards, I can also reduce waste if I reuse the cork-board by simply taking down the black paper pasted with photos and staple up a new layer of black paper!

Positioned and not pasted yet. Some of the photos are repositioned later on and the gray cardboard actually only act like a template as to where I would be placing the 'SKE48' sign and how big it would be.

Went to school today morning, and I did not bring my board along as I intended to go home after school to get it and go down to Changi Airport late in the night to camp over night. Initially, it was assumed that the SKE48 members would arrive on Wednesday morning so I did not expect the sudden news that they would be touching down after 5pm today. The announcement of a private event by AKB48 Singapore on their Facebook page was one of the tip-off.

Rushed back home (yes, I ran out of the classroom when my 'Power Distribution & Electric Servies' Tutorial ended, even though I still have 'Distributed Generation & Grid Interfacing' Tutorial which would start soon) to get the board and as I have not even started on the LEDs and there is not enough time already, I pasted a black piece of paper over the gray cardboard and along with it and the board, I grabbed double-sided tape (the foam type), some stationery, and a gold paint marker. On the way to the airport, I wrote 'SKE48' and drew a few hearts on the black-paper-covered-cardboard. I pasted it on the board in the place of where the LED panel should have been.

Most of the people, in fact I think almost all of the fans thought that only three of the members would arrive first for the special visit at the official cafe and the remaining would arrive tomorrow morning. To our surprise, all of them came in one shot.

Did not have much photos and the shots are of real poor quality as I was mainly waving to the SKE48 members, waving my board and calling out to them

Went down to *Scape straight after that to attempt to catch them there before the private event. Met with some friends just outside the cafe and I decided to start with my LED panel while waiting for the members to arrive. Surprise surprise, they were already in the cafe for some time while we were pre-occupied outside. o_o I guess they entered the cafe through the cafe back door again.

After some random waving of my board, and finished with positioning the LEDs on a black-painted foam board (spray-painted it on Monday), I decided to go home before the private event end and I was caught in a epic situation. I went to the toilet before going home, which is located just outside the *Scape Warehouse - the venue of the stage for the concert - and the moment I came out, the girls just came down and were starting to enter the warehouse. Can say in other words almost walking towards my direction right in front of me and past me at very close range!

As usual, as an airhead, I got stunned and went blank for a moment, managed to wave and call out to Haruka when I saw her. Sadly only a few waved back and Haruka did not turn her head to even look at me! T_T Can't blame her though, she was busy talking to other members. I wonder if I shouted loud enough as I was still in a stun state. The best thing is, I DID NOT TAKE OUT MY CAMERA!! T_T OMG...

AKB48 Singapore Official Shop selling Team 4 photos!

(photo from AKB48 Singapore)

I don't if I am a bit late or not about this but anyways, from the June 2011 set onwards, the Singapore version of AKB48 Theater photos would include the new team, Team 4!

Announced today, they would be selling a total of 100 sets tomorrow (24th July) - Team A x 30, Team K x 30, Team B x 30 and Team 4 x 10.

Guess I have to make a pass for this time T_T Don't have the spare cash. Spent too much recently. Seriously I need to find a job, though it's hard to find one that can fit into my already busy schedule. Shall hunt for June Akicha and Paruru photos from others then. =[

Captain of Team 4 Announced & Two More Additions to the Team

It was announced this evening at the Yossha Ikuzo! concert in Seibu Dome that 大場美奈 (Oba Mina) is appointed as captain of Team 4. Congratulations!! ^^

She really do deserve that position in my opinion as she is seen as the most outspoken member in Team 4 and also shown qualities of a leader - heading many of the group’s MCs and also took a lead position during the kenkyuusei B5 theater stages. She also has quite a funny character and started liking and taking note of her from the AKB48 variety show, 'AKBINGO!'. Loved her reaction to the results of survey on how many people know about or recognizes her in 6th July's episode! XD

阿部マリア (Abe Maria) and 入山杏奈 (Iriyama Anna), both from 10th Generation Kenkyuusei, are also announced to be promoted to Team 4. Have already been expecting that Maria would be promoted, considering the exposure she was given recently. Have been seeing her quite often in Singapore recently too - Official Cafe launch, AKB48 Singapore 3rd Stage, and the Summer Holiday Visit. As for Annin (Iriyama Anna), I don't know much about her yet, but would certainly start taking note and keeping tabs on her from now on. ^^

Once again congratulations to the three girls! ^o^

Group B: Wakabayashi Tomoka (Team KII)

AKB48 Kenkyuusei Janken Tournament Preliminary Results

The preliminary rounds ended earlier today, which took place in the AKB48 Theater in Akiba, and the results are out!

Group A: Rina Izuta (10th Gen KKS)
Group B: Anna Iriyama (10th Gen KKS)
Group C: Marina Kobayashi (10th Gen KKS)
(KKS - Kenkyuusei, or simply trainees)

Don't really know much of any of them, but still would like to wish them all the best! ^^ I hope that if any of them make it to the Janken Senbatsu, those who won in the main tournament would take the chance to work hard and shine in the 24th Single!

AKB48 x Hello Kitty

Following the recent collaboration with Hatsune Miku, Sanrio announced their collaboration with AKB48, featuring a new series of products.

This series would be featuring Hello Kitty wearing the costume from the song “Iiwake Maybe (言い訳Maybe)”. Each product will have three different team versions (A, K, B) and the team letter will be inprinted on the ribbon worn on Hello Kitty’s head. There will be 12 different products released in the first wave and it will include memo pad, ringed notebook, clear file, mini towels with prices ranging from 300-400yen.

Hmm... no Team 4... Maybe it was planned way before Team 4 is officially formed?

These products will be sold at Sanrio outlets at Ginza and Ikebukuro and the Sanrio Puroland, starting from early August. A product launch called 'AKB48 meets Hello Kitty' would take place in Sanrio Puroland on 26th of July, where the products would go on an earlier sale, and a few AKB48 members would be making an appearance at the product launch. It's not announced who would be attending yet though.

AKB48 products, kind of expensive... Hello Kitty mostly very expensive... omg... this collaboration would going to burn a serious hole in the pocket! >.<

AKB48 Singapore Point Card System

(Image belongs to AKB48 Singapore/AKS)

'Thank you everyone who has supported AKB48 Singapore over the past months! We’ll be launching a point card system to reward those who frequent the official shop and café! Stamps collected can be used to redeem drinks, concert tickets, merchandise, meals and more!*

For those attending the Singapore 2011 Summer Holiday Special Visit at the AKB48 Official Café this Tuesday 19.07.11 – attendees will be given a point card with one stamp included. More details on the special event here: http://www.akb48.com.sg/cafe/index.html#event

The point card system will be officially launched from 20.07.11 (WED) onwards.

*Terms and conditions apply'

Announced earlier today on AKB48 Singapore Facebook wall, a point system would be introduced to reward loyal customers. It's not really a surprise to me but it's definitely a real pleasant news!

I don't know I am considered as a regular customer but I did go for all the concerts, except for Vol.2 which I was not able to attend, bought quite a lot of stuff from the store (sometimes drop by the store when I feel like), and went for the cafe launch. Not forgetting I bought all the concert tees, including the Vol.2's which I did not attend.

There's still quite a lot of stuff I want to buy from the store and also wanted to visit the cafe again, it's hard for a student without a part-time job! Can only spend within my means for now ^^"

Anyways, I would definitely look forward towards the point card system, and I believe... I can still achieve what I achieved with the Otaku House's card system! Hahahax!!

Completed a Loyalty card to get the 'Buddy Card' (aka Membership) and two stamps away to completion on two more Loyalty cards in just... a couple of months? That's last year already. XD

Wondering if there would be a expiry for the AKB48 Singapore's point cards. =o

UPDATE (18th July):
The first batch of the point cards would be launched tomorrow as part of the 2011 Singapore Summer Holiday Special Visit by Maeda Ami and Abe Maria. (Previous post on the visit here)

NMB48 Janken Tournament Preliminary Results

Yesterday, NMB48's preliminary round for the Janken Tournament took place at Zepp Osaka, which is accompanied by performances by both the 1st and 2nd generation members. The winners, which would be representing NMB48 in the main Janken Tournament, from each block is as follows:

Group A: Yogi Keira (2nd Gen KKS)
Group B: Yamaguchi Yuuki (Team N)
Group C: Shimada Rena (2nd Gen KKS)
Group D: Hikawa Ayame (1st Gen KKS)
Group E: Fujita Runa (2nd Gen KKS)
(KKS - Kenkyuusei, or simply trainees)

The results is quite surprising, with 4 out of the 5 spots taken up by Kenkyuuseis and the Group B spot, taken by a Team N member who was just promoted recently.

Tomorrow would be the preliminary round for AKB48 Kenkyuuseis and would be taken place at the AKB48 theater. Wonder what surprising results we would receive this time round! ^^

This issue of Teens (August 2011) is really interesting to me. On page 26, there are some exclusive photos featured in the article that were not found anywhere else and I was quite shocked initially when I saw someone I knew in one of the photos (most bottom left of page 26). There is also a short interview with four of the members on the next page, Ohori Megumi (Meetan), Kohara Haruka (Kirurun), Kondo Sayaka (Sayanee), and Chen Qu (Chuchuu). ^^

There is also a page on the soft opening of the AKB48 Official Cafe, featuring Abe Maria (Maria), Shimazaki Haruka (Paruru), and Takeuchi Miyu (Miyumiyu). I also find their interview real interesting and I learned that one of my favourite AKB48 members, Paruru, likes sailor and nautical styles, and often wears them when off stage. >//< Kawaii~!!

Be sure to get it once it's out in your area! ^^ Found out that my area releases local magazines real fast. Heard that certain areas of Singapore still doesn't have August issue of Teens. @.@

SKE48 1st Stage ticket

Made my way to the AKB48 Singapore Official Shop at *Scape in the late afternoon to get my SKE48 1st Stage ticket. (More information on AKB48 Singapore Theatre 'LIVE' Vol.5 - SKE48 1st Stage, check out my post here)

Somerset and Orchard were so packed. Its Saturday night after all! Can't wait for the date of the concert to arrive >w< Wondering if they would be performing the cover song of their new single that would be released on the exact same date of the concert. (More information on their new single in my post here)

AKB48 24th Single Janken Tournament Preliminary Rounds

As mentioned in an earlier post that, 3 AKB48 Kenkyuusei, 5 SKE48 members and 5 NMB48 members would be chosen to participate in the main Janken Tournament via their own preliminary rounds.

NMB48 would be having their preliminary rounds today (16th July) at Zepp Osaka,

AKB48 Kenkyuusei would be having their preliminary rounds on the 18th of July in the AKB48 theater,

and SKE48 would be having their preliminary rounds on the 20th of July in Ichinomiya Hall

What actually caught my attention were, フレンチ・キス (French Kiss - from AKB48), 渡り廊下走り隊7 (Watarirouka Hashiritai 7), SCANDAL and ステレオポニー (Stereopony). They are my favourite singers and I love their songs a lot ^^
Sadly, I'm not able to go to Japan for the LIVE on both of the days T_T
